Unveiled at this year’s Sea Otter, the Revelate Designs Burrote is a rack-top bag that boasts a waterproof, welded construction, roomy exterior pockets, a tapered profile, and bungees for lashing on extra gear. Paired with the matching Constrictor Straps, the Burrote is a lightweight, durable, user-friendly hauling system with a sweet-spot capacity of about 10 liters. For Collective Reward #258, two randomly selected winners will take home a Burrote and a pair of Constrictors, valued at $164. Neil and Miles both tested the Burrote on bikepacking trips around Colorado and British Columbia (read the review here), and they were equally impressed by its rock-solid stability, useful exterior pockets, and out-of-the-way shape. The Constrictors, made from UV-stabilized polyurethane with fiberglass-reinforced nylon buckles, stayed in place over the bumpiest terrain and can attach to any rack rail diameter. The Burrote, built from 420d TPU-laminated ripstop with C0 DWR and Hypalon reinforcements, proved hard-wearing and impervious to the elements. They found the Burrote and Constrictor combination a worthwhile upgrade over a standard dry bag, simplifying packing, riding, and unpacking.
