Acton Town station has been evacuated after a reported emergency on the London Underground on Wednesday. People have been warned to not enter the station after a “fire alert”, TFL said. Travellers are being advised to use London Buses instead, and tickets are currently being accepted on those services as an alternative.
An ambulance was spotted outside the station amid the disruption, and red “Do Not Enter” signs have been displayed inside to prevent entry. TfL wrote on its website: “Closed – This station is closed while we respond to a fire alert. Tickets are being accepted on London Buses.” The station in West London serves both the Piccadilly and District lines.
TfL has said that there is currently no service between Parsons Green and Wimbledon and “severe delays” between Parsons Green to Edgware Road.Â
