A PR expert has claimed that Peter Andre could have destroyed daughter Princess’ reality show stardom before it ever had the chance to kick off.

The 18-year-old launched her new fly in the wall ITV programme last week, as a long-running feud between parents Peter and Katie Price ramped up a gear.

After Katie, 47, reached out and claimed she wanted to clear the air with her ex husband, a furious Peter hit back by releasing a shock statement, taking the war of words between the former couple to a new level. He revealed he’d had full custody of kids Princess and Junior, 20, since 2018 for their “safety”.

Mum-of-five Katie then retaliated, saying she would “no longer be gaslighted” and that she was “at peace”.

According to Celebrity PR Specialist Kayley Cornelius, the Mysterious Girl hitmaker could have put the kibosh on Princess’ fledgling new career by drawing attention away from her.

Kayley said: “Peter Andre may have jeopardised daughter Princess’s reality career before it even had the chance to fully kick off without realising it, with his recent shock statement.

“The Princess Diaries is by far the biggest career move for Princess to date, so at a time when the spotlight and eyes should all be on her, I think it’s fair to say that dad Peter has definitely spoiled the moment, even if he didn’t intend to.

“In PR, we always say timing is everything. While it can be argued that his statement was related to themes shown on the show, there was no real timeline or public pressure for him to share that information. The timing was therefore careless, and as a result the public’s attention has been completely diverted from her ITV series.”

On Monday night, Katie faced further public backlash as ex-husband Alex Reid leaked a video of her waving a handful of cash while bankrupt. In the footage, the former glamour model can be seen lying on the couch, “enjoying counting” the pile of money in front of her as she says: “There’s loads here.. I’m just sorting it out.”

The star, who was left bankrupt twice over debts totalling more than £3m, was asked by Princess in the clip if she would help pay her school fees. Price responded: “Your dad can sit on that,” before lifting a middle finger.

Dressed in white jodhpurs and sitting next to a Christmas tree, she asked: “Does he go on about it a lot? Well it’s tough because I’m in bankruptcy to next May now.”

Kayley went on: “Very quickly, the focus has gone from Princess to Peter and Kate, and with other ex-husbands now chipping in, the statement has had a domino effect and Princess is being dragged into the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

“Princess should still be riding the high, especially in these early days when ratings and sentiment are crucial in deciding whether the show gets renewed or left as a one-off. While the show has been a top performer on ITV since launching, the conversation and media attention surrounding it has certainly been cut short prematurely.

“With both of her parents now under fire, it likely leaves her in a sticky situation, as she may feel unable to continue promoting her show to draw in new viewers out of fear of causing further backlash against dad Peter, who heavily features.”

Tensions reached fever pitch last Thursday when Peter published a damning message directed at his ex after Princess was forced to announce on TikTok earlier that week that she was ‘independent’ from her parents following reports of a feud between them due to Katie being largely left out of the new ITV show.

Peter fumed: “For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.

“The latest comments about my children’s welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight. For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood.

“In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never made this public before, out of respect for my children. In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases found my ex-wife had made false claims.

“She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise to me and my management. The same falsehoods are being repeated today. Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months.”

It has been claimed Peter “had” to speak out because things in the family had turned “unbearable”. “Katie lies and lies about Pete, she talks about him and tells lies about the kids all the time and he was sick of it,” a source told the Sun.

“The fact is, she went on her podcast and said that Princess lived with her, and that’s just not true. It’s been a really difficult and upsetting time for the family – she’s goading him and constantly speaking about him, and none of it is true.”

Now, after Reid’s release of the cash counting footage and subsequent own statements about his ex, PR expert Kayley reckons it’s Princess who will sadly be the most affected by the recent drama.

She said: “As a girl trying to position herself as a family-friendly role model, with content aimed at teenagers and young adults of a similar age, if the negative headlines continue to come in and her team fail to flip the subject, this could also have a knock-on effect on her influencing career.

“The influencer and online creator scene is heavily saturated, with new creators being born and rising to fame every week, so more brands than ever have to be picky about the talent they take on. Ultimately, many of these stars represent the brand, so finding talent that matches their brand image is crucial.

“And especially with family-friendly brands, if they continue to see Princess’s name being tied into the ongoing controversy with her parents, that may be enough to put some major brands off working with her, as they fear the backlash they may receive as a result.”
