Fulfilment Pictures, a production company based in Ayr, says the money will support Initial Contact, a supernatural thriller filmed across Ayr and Callander this summer.
The production had received backing from Creative Scotland before the fundraising campaign began.
It follows a priest posing as a lawyer as he interviews a woman accused of killing her family.
During the conversation, the woman may be revealed as a sinister, otherworldly presence.
The filmmakers are now moving into post-production, where the film will be edited.
They aim to complete it in the new year and hope to showcase it in Ayr before taking it on a festival run.
Initial Contact will then be used as a proof of concept while the company pitches its feature film, Room 22.
Fulfilment Pictures had asked the public for help completing the film. It had raised more than half of its target before the final total was reached.
Donations made before August 25 were eligible for Creative Scotland’s Crowdmatch scheme.
The scheme could match public contributions pound-for-pound up to £10,000, subject to its limits.
The company thanked people who donated and said the support had helped give the film extra exposure.
