What are people in WWE thinking regarding all these rumors of a potential Chris Jericho return?
Over the weekend, Chris Jericho got the wrestling world talking after liking a post on Instagram stating his contract with AEW was up at the end of this year and that he’d be open to a WWE return depending on the situation.
Following that, there was a report that suggested people backstage in WWE have already been discussing a potential return for Jericho in 2026.
But now it appears that those discussions haven’t taken place between any member of the creative team.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), WWE sources have informed him that Jericho’s name has not been brought up at all around the creative process. So if there have been discussions surrounding his return to WWE, it hasn’t happened in that department.
While Jericho is reportedly still on good terms with WWE, sources within the company tell Sapp it’s far too early to tell what might happen as Jericho still has several months remaining on his AEW deal.
Although Sapp hasn’t heard any creative pitches surrounding a Jericho return to AEW, those conversations typically take place directly between Khan and Jericho.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information on Chris Jericho’s AEW and WWE status as it becomes available.
