Customers have described queues at the Boots Pharmacy in Loddon, with delays stretching over several days and confusion over automated text messages notifying patients that prescriptions are ready to collect.
Among those affected is John Bellamy, who says repeated problems obtaining medication have left him increasingly fearing for his health.

“I am currently waiting eight days since the confirmation that Boots have my latest prescriptions.”
The diabetic patient says prescription problems over the past three months have led to delays in obtaining medication and missing items.
“For the past three months, prescription problems at Boots Loddon have been mismanaged, resulting in life-threatening delays in obtaining drugs,” he said.

Mr Bellamy said previous prescriptions had arrived without all the required items, including a sharps container and a Ramapril prescription.
“Every month the same, prescriptions missing, always very late, text confirming prescription received then nothing.”
He also described an earlier disagreement about whether he had requested a prescription for Humulin insulin.
“My diabetic nurse checked and found I had ordered it,” he said.
The pensioner said the delays left him so concerned about running out of medication that he reduced his insulin doses while waiting for supplies to arrive.

Another customer claimed they waited 45 minutes at the pharmacy before being advised not to rely on automated text messages, while another said a dialysis patient was forced to leave the queue without collecting medications because he could no longer stand and wait.
Responding to the concerns, a Boots spokesperson said: “Prescriptions and healthcare support continue to be available at our Boots Loddon High Street pharmacy.
“Colleagues are working hard to return to our usual service levels, with additional dispensers and pharmacists on site, while we remain grateful for our customers’ patience and understanding.”
