Thousands of pet medications recalled nationwide due to potential potency issues

  • October 26, 2026

If you have pets, a recall has been issued that you will want to keep on your radar. Nearly 4,000 medications used to treat pets and other animals are being recalled nationwide over concerns they may be too strong or too weak.

New Jersey-based Wedgewood Pharmacy announced the recall after testing found inconsistencies in the strength of some medications.

The affected products were shipped to veterinary practices, pharmacies, and other customers across the country between Feb. 18 and Oct. 6.

The recalled products include liquids, powders, sprays, eye drops, and injections used to treat dogs, cats, horses, fish and other animals.

The health risks associated with low potency can include ineffective treatment, while the health risks involved with high potency can include toxicity or even overdose.

So far, Wedgewood has received 98 complaints, seven of which the company described as serious. Customers are urged to contact their veterinarians if they have medical concerns.
