A new species of dinosaur has been named after a dad who worked in the building where it was found in Surrey, in the south of England.

William Proudlove was a manager of the Ewhurst brick and tile works, and was very interested in fossils himself.

An ancient dino fossil was found there in 2001 and donated to the Natural History Museum, who have recently looked at the fossil again and realised it’s actually a brand new species.

They have now named it Paludohadros proudlovii – a type of iguanodontian, which were plant-eating dinosaurs known for having big spikes on their thumbs.
