Coronation Street’s Carl is up to no good after telling Brody that it’s time for them to cut out the middlemen and start stealing cars themselves.

In new episodes set to air on Tuesday (26 August) and Friday (29 August), resident schemer Carl comes to Brody’s aid after spotting two lads threatening the teen and demanding payment for stealing a car.

After sending the pair packing and checking in on a shaken Brody, Carl realises that they might need to shake up their criminal enterprise once and for all.

Meanwhile, in another surprising moment from next week’s episodes, Carl, who convinces Tyrone to let him work at the garage while Kevin is away, learns that newcomer Ollie is up for dangerous driving, but claims his brakes had actually failed. Shortly after, Carl notes that the MOT certificate is from a garage that Fiona, his frequent accomplice, uses.

Coronation Street has been lining up an alliance between Carl and Brody for a while now. On Wednesday 20 August, scenes showed Carl entering the garage and finding Brody on the cusp of stealing an expensive motor.

Carl warned Brody that he’d be heading back to the Secure Training Centre if caught, and suggested that he come and see him in future.

“Carl’s been up to no good at the garage for ages now – and it seems that he has no intention of turning his back on the criminal lifestyle,” our Corrie source revealed.

“Brody’s in a tough spot, as he wants to bring in some money to help support his younger sisters but is struggling to find a legitimate job. It’d be no surprise if he ended up being tempted by Carl’s idea…”

Since arriving in Weatherfield, Carl has done nothing but stir up trouble, and as fans well know, he’s been working with Fiona on some dodgy deals too.

Back in May, our source hinted: “This is the start of a slippery slope for Carl. He’s taking advantage of his brother by doing crooked jobs in the garage, and the people he’s getting involved with won’t stop at one job. This could be really dangerous for the Websters…”

With Carl continuing to scheme and roping Brody further into his criminal activities, it looks like the teen is in for a bumpy ride.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
