Lynn golfer Jack Yule produced two excellent rounds over the weekend to secure a share of second place in the DP World Tour Qualifying School.
Yule finished the four-day tournament at Desert Springs Golf Club, in Spain, on 22-under-par, five shots behind winner Ahmad Baig, to comfortably secure his place in the Final Stage of qualifying.
With only the leading 20 players progressing, the King’s Lynn Golf Club member made certain of his qualification with rounds of 62, 70, 65 and 69 at the par-72 course in Almería.

After making a flying start with a remarkable opening-round 62, ten under par, Yule followed up with a two-under-par 70 on Friday to reach the halfway stage at 12 under.
He continued his impressive form on Saturday, producing a superb seven-under-par 65 to climb to 19 under heading into the final round.
Yule began his third round steadily, making pars at each of the opening five holes before collecting consecutive birdies at the sixth and seventh.
He then produced one of the highlights of his tournament with an eagle three at the par-five ninth, reaching the turn in four-under-par 33.
Another birdie followed at the par-three 12th before Yule picked up further shots at the 16th and 17th to complete a bogey-free round of 65.
It was an outstanding display of controlled golf, featuring five birdies and an eagle, which put him firmly in contention for one of the leading positions.
With qualification virtually assured, Yule maintained his momentum during today’s final round, signing for a three-under-par 69 to finish the tournament on 22 under.
His closing round began with a par at the first before a dropped shot at the par-three second briefly interrupted his progress.
Another bogey followed at the fourth, but Yule responded superbly with consecutive birdies at the seventh and eighth to return to level par for the round.
He made the turn in 37 before producing another excellent back nine, completing the inward half in just 32 shots.
A birdie at the 10th was followed by four consecutive pars before Yule picked up another shot at the 15th.
He added a further birdie at the 17th and safely negotiated the final hole to complete a highly impressive four days in Spain.
His weekend scores of 65 and 69 represented a combined ten-under-par return and ensured he finished alongside fellow Englishman Kieran Vincent in joint second place.
Pakistan’s Ahmad Baig topped the leaderboard on 27 under after a closing six-under-par round, while Jack Hawksby and Sweden’s Albin Bergstrom shared fourth place on 21 under.
For Yule, the performance represented an important step towards his ambition of earning playing privileges on the DP World Tour for a second successive year.
The final stage takes places at Infinitum Golf Club, in Tarragona, later this week.
