The Wetherby Whaler is sponsoring the Ride for Lee & Yorkshire MND event, a 100-mile circuit beginning and ending at its Guiseley restaurant and stopping at each of its other Yorkshire locations.

The route includes Wetherby, York, Tadcaster, Pudsey and Wakefield, and aims to raise £2,500 for MND awareness and support.

Paul Fowler, organiser of the ride and one of six cyclists completing the full route, said: “We’re riding more than 100 miles to every Wetherby Whaler across Yorkshire not just to raise funds, but to shine a spotlight on the struggle faced daily by people living with MND, like Lee.”

Funds raised will be split between the MND Association’s West Yorkshire, Yorkshire Dales and York branches (30 per cent) and direct support for Lee ‘Lenny’ Brannan, who was diagnosed with MND earlier this year (70 per cent).

Ryan Dean, senior manager at Wetherby Whaler, said: “Community is at the heart of everything we do at Wetherby Whaler, both in the kitchen and beyond.

“When we learned of Lee’s story and the Ride for Lee & Yorkshire MND, we were delighted to sponsor the ride.”
