Celtic’s pursuit of Michel-Ange Balikwisha has been something of a saga for the Hoops support.

Celtic reportedly sent a delegate to Belgium to tie up a deal for Balikwisha last week as the club looks to strengthen their squad for the season ahead.

With an agreement said to be in place, Celtic are expected to sign Balikwisha in the coming days after journalist Sacha Tavolieri said both parties have now found common ground over a deal.

And it seems the Celtic move could be close as Balikwisha drops the biggest hint yet he could be on his way to Parkhead.

As Celtic fans can see from the pictures, it appears that Balikwisha has said goodbye to the Royal Antwerp fans this weekend.

The Belgian was left out of Royal Antwerp’s squad in the 2-1 win over KV Mechelen.

And it seems now, that Balikwisha is on his way out of Antwerp after saying his emotional goodbyes to the home fans yesterday afternoon.

And after what a Sun journalist said about Balikwisha and Celtic last week, Parkhead is the Belgian’s likely destination.

When Michel-Ange Balikwisha will complete his Celtic medical

The deal appears to be moving quickly as Joseph dropped another update on when Balikwisha will undergo his Celtic medical.

Taking to X, Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph said, “UPDATE: Royal Antwerp winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha is due to arrive in the UK this week to undergo a medical with Celtic.

“Deal worth up to £5m has been agreed by clubs & he’s verbally agreed terms.

“The 24 year-old was left out yesterday, but was given a send-off after the match.”

It seems like this deal is now motoring ahead and Balikwisha could be a Celtic player in time for the Rangers game.
