Holidaying for families is set to become more affordable with Jet2, as the airline has announced a major policy change.

In a new family-friendly offer for those jetting off on holiday, children under two years old will travel with the airline for free.

The new policy was introduced on August 22 and applies to all new bookings.

The child must be aged under two at the time of travel.

Another change that families are sure to welcome is Jet2.com’s rules surrounding child and infant equipment allowance.

Now, no excess baggage will be charged for child or infant equipment being checked into the hold.

There’s also an extra 10kg baggage allowance for children aged under two, as well as two free hold items.

The family-friendly change means parents can check in collapsible pushchairs, car seats, booster seats, travel cots and baby carriers and the 10kg weight limit does not apply.

Children under two were already travelling free with Jet2holidays when families booked a package holiday.

But the new policy means even with just a seat-only flight, parents can enjoy cheaper travel with their youngsters.

Jet2 boss Steve Heapy said the company is ‘putting our customers first’.

He added: ‘As a family friendly airline and tour operator, we are always looking at how we can make the experience even better for families travelling with us.

‘By putting our customers first and making these changes, meaning that all children under 2 now travel for free whether on a package holiday or a seat-only flight, we are making travel even more accessible for millions of families.’

Recently, a Jet2 mega-fan made headlines after he got the brand’s slogan tattooed on his arm.

Craig Hicks from Telford, Shropshire, will forever carry the words ‘Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday’ on his right arm after getting inked on August 6th in tribute to his favourite carrier.

The ambulance controller, 37, says he’s a ‘big fan’ of the airline, which started up in 2003 and has amassed a huge following on social media thanks to its catchy theme tune – which uses pop star Jess Glynne‘s track Hold My Hand.

Recently, a Jet2 mega-fan made headlines after he got the brand’s slogan tattooed on his arm

The bold tattoo sees the slogan in capital letters, with the Jet2 logo enlarged and in the brand’s signature red, just under his elbow – which the tourist hopes will win him a few future cost-free flights with the company.

Craig, whose next trip is to Tenerife with the carrier, says he’s been abroad ‘dozens’ of times with the airline and that his nearest and dearest are as smitten with his new body art as he is.

Describing why he decided to show his love for the airline with a tattoo, he explained the airline’s popularity on TikTok had persuaded him.

He said: ‘I just thought it’s quite topical at the moment, why not? It’s just so popular at the moment… I’ll be getting it out on that flight definitely.

‘All my friends keep saying I could get a free holiday out of this! A freebie would be nice.’
