Coronation Street has explained how Aadi Alahan has left the cobbles in the newest episode.

Adam Hussain announced his departure back in April, and on screen he’s been busy planning to move halfway across the world and find himself in India.

But spoilers released last week teased that things could take a disastrous turn, as Asha is called to a car crash, and recognises the vehicle as Aadi’s.

But how did things actually play out in the episode?

The episode began with Dev getting upset that Asha had a shift and wouldn’t be able to attend a goodbye breakfast, and they shared a low-energy farewell.

At work, Asha was soon called to the scene of the crash and was horrified to discover that it was Aadi’s car, and no-one was answering her questions.

However, Aadi soon popped up behind her, alive and well.

Dev was there as well, and revealed that the car was in the garage for an MOT and had been stolen, much to Asha’s relief.

Back at home, Asha was still shaking with stress. Aadi wondered if he should stay longer but Asha said she was fine (although after the events of yesterday, we know she’s not).

Aadi told her he left her his favourite hoodie that she always likes to wear, and told her to voice-note him later to confirm she’s okay, before setting off.

In the Bistro, Asha saw Brody Michaelis shouting at one of his dodgy friends and screamed at them, causing her supervisor Sienna to send her home, and later tell her she will be reported if she does it while in uniform again.

Later on, Asha tried and failed to open up to Dev in the Rovers due to Mary Taylor’s arrival, and hit the booze to drown her sorrows.

DS Lisa Swain saw her drunk and, after walking her home, got her to open up about how she was feeling, and advised her to report the verbal abuse from the day before to her manager.

Can Asha cope with all the stress before things get worse?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
