When it comes to TV and radio personalities who know a thing or two about music, up there with the best and most knowledgeable of them has got to be Lauren Laverne. And it’s Sunderland born TV and radio regular, who started her career as a member of 90s band Kenickie and is now seen by millions on The One Show, who has been given the honour of hosting the Mercury Prize 2025.
6 Music Presenter Lauren’s involvement was confirmed on Wednesday, with having been at the helm of many of the Prize’s famed nights in years gone by. Joining her in Newcastle, Radio 1’s Maia Beth will be on the Red Carpet at the arena, having already hosted exclusive artist interviews with those featuring on the Albums of The Year Shortlist for Mercury Prize social channels.
