Celtic will not be playing Champions League football this season after they crashed out on penalties.
Kairat Almaty beat Celtic on penalties to leave plenty of questions for everyone associated with the club.
Instead, the Hoops will now have to contend with Europa League football instead, something Aiden McGeady believes will act as a ‘stark reminder’ to Celtic.
Recruitment, or the lack of it, has been at the heart of the complaints and Stiliyan Petrov believes plenty of new faces need to come through the door before the 1 September deadline.

Former Celtic midfielder Petrov was in the Amazon Prime studio alongside Martin O’Neill to dissect the difficult night in Almaty.
Petrov called for the club to act and get more signings after initially joking that he wouldn’t be let back into the stadium when asked what Celtic need.
He said: “You don’t want me to answer that; they won’t let me back in Celtic Park.”
Petrov then continued by saying: “Celtic need four or five quality players at least before the end of the transfer window.”
Celtic have just made the transfer window a whole lot harder for themselves
While Celtic may be more competitive in the Europa League, the Hoops have certainly shot themselves in the foot in terms of the players they can attract.
Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Marcelo Saracchi are close to joining but there still need to be at least two-three more before fans will be satisfied.
Without the allure of Champions League football, that task has become a lot harder.
