A star of The One Show has left their followers stunned with a wedding announcement after eloping to Las Vegas.

It’s been a busy summer for the BBC talk show, which recently saw former Ronan Keating return for the first time since moving to Dubai.

On top of this, Alex Jones took several weeks off from her presenting duties after being honoured in a special episode as she marked 15 years as the face of the show.

It’s now been revealed that Lindsey Russell, who often fronts pre-recorded segments aired at the beginning of the show, had some news of her own.

Taking to Instagram, the 34-year-old informed her 30,000 followers that she tied the knot to her long-term partner Fred Haig.

Sharing images from the big day, Lindsey and Fred looked delighted as they held hands and stared lovingly at each other on the Vegas strip.

Having not shared any of their wedding plans, the couple could be seen enjoying a meal at In-N-Out, one of the biggest burger chains in the United States.

Another snap brought fans inside the ceremony, with Lindsey and Fred holding hands as they marked their major relationship milestone.

Captioning the post, Lindsey wrote: “Officially in my wife era!”

A number of Lindsey’s One Show colleagues and famous friends rushed to the comments section of the post to congratulate her and Fred on their elopement.

Angellica Bell said: “CONGRATULATIONS! ELOPING IS THE BEST.” Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden added: “THIS IS EPIC.”

YouTuber Louise Pentland wrote: “I love it!! Huge congratulations and a lifetime of happiness to you both!! xxx 2025 Brides!! Xxxx.” Heart presenter Ashley Roberts stated: “Congrats chica!!!”

Saffron Baker commented: “Omg love these!!! Congratulations gorgeous.” Gabby Roslin posted: “Ahh huge congratulations.”

Outside of her One Show duties, Lindsey is best known for becoming a Blue Peter presenter after winning a competition to host the children’s TV show.

With Eamonn Holmes and Myleene Klass on the judging panel, Lindsey was picked ahead of over 20,000 other applicants.

She said in 2013: “I feel amazing. Thank you for voting for me so much. It’s the best job in the world – you get to do incredible things. Right now it feels a little strange. I’m quite shaky.”

On top of this, she’s appeared on ITV breakfast programme This Morning and presents the Early Breakfast Show, which airs weekdays from 4am on Heart Radio.
