The midfielder spent his entire senior career at Blackburn Rovers, barring a six-month loan spell in Suffolk in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign, which came after a fall-out with manager Jon Dahl Tomasson.

There, he made nine appearances as the Blues went on to secure promotion to the Premier League, returning to Ewood Park after Tomasson’s departure.

He enjoyed playing under John Eustace, who named him as captain last season. The 49-year-old departed Lancashire back in February to take over at Derby, however, with Blackburn just falling short of the top six, managed by Valerien Ismael.

Travis made it clear that he wanted to leave Rovers this summer, aiming to reunite with Eustace at Pride Park despite reported interest from elsewhere. Now, despite tough negotiations, the Rams have sealed a deal to sign the 27-year-old for an undisclosed fee.

In an interesting twist, the Liverpool academy graduate is expected to make his Derby debut against Ipswich this weekend, returning to Portman Road for the first time since May 4th, 2024, when he was an unused substitute as the Blues beat Huddersfield Town to earn promotion from the Championship.
