A woman said she’s lonely sitting at home “looking at a blank wall all day” after her TV stopped working. Carla Haughton is currently unable to go out for long periods of time following an operation which has restricted her mobility.
The 60-year-old rents her home on First Avenue in Crosby from One Vision Housing for £101 a week, which Carla said includes a service charge that covers the costs of running a TV in her flat. However, at the beginning of August the TV stopped working after it was left with no service. Carla said she has reported the issue “multiple times” to building maintenance, but three weeks later it’s still not fixed.
The issue is said to be affecting others living in the same block of flats, including Carla’s neighbours John Cropper and Andrew Parker, who also have no TV service.
Carla told the ECHO: “Me and my neighbours have been phoning One Vision for weeks asking for it to be fixed but they keep saying they are waiting for another company to come back to them.
“We are paying rent to them every week, we pay to have a TV in our flat but we’re not allowed to watch them because they aren’t working.
“I also pay for a TV licence, but why am I paying for something that I can’t use? It’s frustrating.”
One Vision Housing said a subcontractor completed “specialist works” on August 22 and no further reports have been raised surrounding the matter. However, after being contacted by the ECHO, One Vision said its neighbourhood services officers are in contact with the customers involved.

Carla said she’s recently had an operation and is unable to travel far due to her mobility. This means she’s stuck in the flat for most of the day which she said is becoming “very lonely” for her.
She said: “I’m unable to go out, I have a walking stick, it’s very lonely having to sit and look at a blank wall all day, I’ve been having to listen to a radio. It’s beyond a joke, it’s been going on for weeks. It’s just annoying.”

A spokesperson for One Vision Housing said: “One Vision Housing’s approved subcontractor completed the specialist works on August 22 2025, following an initial repair job raised on 15th August.
“Following the successful completion of works, no further reports have been raised surrounding this matter. Our Neighbourhood Services Officers are in contact with customers involved, following the reports by the Liverpool Echo.”
