Tony Ferguson had one crazy open workout for his upcoming boxing match on Saturday.
The former UFC interim lightweight champion steps into the boxing ring for the first time in his pro career at Misfits Boxing 22. Ferguson is set to co-headline the event against viral influencer-boxer Salt Papi.
From multiple fight of the year contenders in the UFC to his electric and unpredictable personality, Ferguson is one of the most memorable faces in combat sports today.
‘El Cucuy’ looks to return to winning ways after losing eight straight fights in the Octagon, a skid that resulted in Ferguson leaving the promotion last year.
This week, the 41-year-old Ferguson shows us he can still move like he used to.

Ferguson brought out all the moves at the Misfits Boxing 22 open workout on Wednesday.
Despite this fight being under boxing rules, Ferguson’s workout didn’t look much different than something he would do for a UFC fight week.
Ferguson threw punches, kicks, knees, and even did knee slides in the boxing ring.
That’s not all. Ferguson bounced off the ropes and performed Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s signature finishing move from WWE, ‘The People’s Elbow’.
Ferguson rocked stars and stripes for his open workout, like Apollo Creed’s trunks in the ‘Rocky’ franchise.
Misfits promoter gives ’50-50′ take on Tony Ferguson vs. Salt Papi
Misfits Boxing promoter Mams Taylor thinks Ferguson vs. Salt Papi is a razor-thin fight.
While Ferguson boasts years of facing the best fighters in the world, the former UFC titleholder does not have any boxing experience under his belt. Salt Papi is 6-2 as a boxer.
What does Taylor make of Ferguson’s chances ahead of his boxing debut?
“It’s a 50-50 for me,” Taylor said of the odds for Ferguson vs. Salt Papi during a Misfits interview.
“Tony’s got the experience,” Taylor added.
“I spoke to Tony, Tony’s like, I’m doing everything I need to do to win this fight and he’s so determined…
“It meant so much, I could tell. I really felt it,” the promoter said of Ferguson’s mentality in the lead-up to Misfits 22.
