A woman was shocked when she picked up an item at a charity shop only to discover it was worth significantly more than what she paid for it. Carole Rees recently shared her find with her online followers, leaving them astounded.

In the video, she dubbed it her “thrift of the year”, as she shared the benefits of charity shops. Carole said you can get some real gems at charity shops these days, and she confessed she’d had some “incredible finds”, with her latest bargain being sourced from a British Heart Foundation.

According to WalesOnline, Carole said she paid £45.00 for the Ninja Luxe Premier coffee machine, but the appliance is actually valued much higher than this. She said: “I cannot believe I found this in a charity shop.

“So, I went thrifting in Carmarthen yesterday on my way [home] from a weekend away in Pembrokeshire and I popped into this lovely store.

“This was actually the first store that I visited – it’s the British Heart Foundation home store in Carmarthenshire. The furniture they had there was absolutely amazing, and they were actually having a half-price sale as I was walking through the door.

“Anyway, my son bought this coffee machine last month, and I couldn’t believe he paid £550 for it.

“I would love one, but I’d never pay that, so you can imagine my delight when I spotted this little beauty in the charity shop – the exact same model in as-new condition for £45.00.”

Immediately recognising the gadget as an “absolute bargain”, Carole bought the coffee machine without hesitation. Delighted with her find, she revealed her excitement at managing to save £500 and expressed how pleased she was that she’d decided to browse the shop.

The mum explained that if you’re someone who “turns your nose up” at charity shops, you really need to reconsider, as they provide some fantastic bargains on premium items.

With the coffee machine selling for just under £550 elsewhere, she was amazed at how little she’d managed to secure it for.

The video has been watched by hundreds of people since being posted, with many eager to share their own experiences. It appears Carole isn’t alone among bargain hunters who love discovering charity shop treasures.

One viewer said: “Best bargain of the year. Love it.” Another person added: “Wow – great bargain. Love a charity shop.”

A third said: “Yes, I go. I bought a pair of shoes for £10 brand new. Retail price £120.00.”

In response to queries about the item’s functionality, Carole assured that it had been tested and was in excellent working condition.
