Asda recently announced it will open 20 new stores across the country. The openings are due to begin early October starting with an followed by openings in up to 20 more locations across the UK in the space of a month from late October onwards.

The later openings include a new branch for Liverpool with shoppers set to gain an Asda Express convenience store. Asda Express stores typically stock up to 3,000 branded and own-label products including essential items such as milk and bread, on the go lunch items and cupboard staples.

Asda has confirmed a specific location on Parliament Street as the exact location for the new store. It is pictured below.

Building works can currently be seen to be taking place indicating that the new store development is already underway.

The new site sits opposite the Boxpark venue and will provide a convenient supermarket to a street otherwise lacking in such shops.

All of the recently announced new Asda branches will be Express convenience stores.

Asda says the new stores will see the supermarket grow its footprint in high-footfall urban areas, residential locations, and transport hubs – sites where the retailer has traditionally had limited presence.

“In just three years, we’ve grown from zero convenience stores to establishing a major presence in the channel, with almost 500 stores by the end of the year.

This continued investment reflects the confidence we have in our convenience strategy and our focus on bringing Asda’s low prices to more local communities.”
