Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan’s brother passed away recently and in a heartfelt moment on Friday, Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi and a few of his teammates were seen offering their condolences to the former and praying after their match in Sharjah.

The heartfelt tribute came only days after Afghanistan’s camp was shaken by Rashid’s personal loss.

Haji Abdul Halim, a constant pillar of support in Rashid’s life, was mourned as teammates past and present expressed their grief.

After their 39-run victory over Afghanistan in Sharjah, the Pakistan side came together to honour Rashid and his family, offering prayers and heartfelt condolences.

Meanwhile, in the match, Rashid smashed five sixes and a boundary in his whirlwind 16-ball 39 but fell to Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf to end his side’s fight.

Earlier, Pakistan was lifted by Salman Agha’s fourth T20I fifty. He anchored the innings well after opener Sahibzada Farhan smashed two sixes and a four in his 10-ball 21 after Pakistan won the toss and batted.

Agha hit a 36-ball 53 not out with three sixes and as many fours, which lifted Pakistan to 182/7 in their 20 overs.

Pacers Rauf took 4/31 and Shaheen Afridi 2/21, while spinners Mohammad Nawaz (2-23) and Sufiyan Muqeem (2-25) dismissed Afghanistan for a paltry 143 in 19.5 overs before a noisy capacity 16,000 crowd at the Sharjah stadium.

Agha added 53 for the fifth wicket with Mohammad Nawaz, whose 11-ball 21 had two sixes and a four as the duo helped Pakistan get 51 runs in the last five overs.

Pakistan take on hosts UAE on Saturday, August 30, with each side meeting twice before the top two teams clash in the final on Sunday, September 7.
