What time is the transfer deadline and why has it changed?

Transfer deadline day has arrived, with a number of big moves still to be completed across the Premier League and Europe’s top divisions.

Several clubs have already made notable additions in this window, with a mini-window that opened up ahead of the Club World Cup facilitating moves for players including Matheus Cunha, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Rayan Cherki.

Moat of the clubs in the Premier League remain keen on one final addition before the end of the window, with the deadline to secure the last few deals coming at 7pm tonight.

Outgoings at Arsenal

Two Arsenal players look set to join German side Hamburg, according to Sky.

Albert Sambi Lokonga is set to join on a permanent deal, while Fabio Vieira is heading to Germany on loan.

City agree Donnarumma deal

Manchester City have agreed a deal to bring Gianluigi Donnarumma to the club, with a medical scheduled for this afternoon.

The fee for there Italy international will be between €30m to €35m, according to earlier reports.

This deal means Ederson’s move to Fenerbahce looks set to be sealed later today too.

Isak arrives in Liverpool for medical

Alexander Isak has arrived on Merseyside for his medical, ahead of signing a six-year deal valid with the Reds.

The deal will keep him at Anfield until June 2031, with Liverpool paying £125m and Newcastle reportedly receiving £130m, including a solidarity payment.

West Ham are exploring a deal for Brighton centre-back Igor, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Ajax striker Bryan Brobbey is set to move to Sunderland today after the club saw Marc Guiu recalled by Chelsea.

The Black Cats will pay €20m as an initial fixed fee – with €5m in add-ons – for the Dutch forward.

United also working on Lammens deal

Alongside their potential move for Emi Martinez, Manchester United are still working on a deal to bring Royal Antwerp ‘keeper Senne Lammens to Old Trafford.

In fact, Fabrizio Romano reports that United are only working on the Martinez deal as a back-up if they can’t agree a deal with Antwerp and Lammens himself.

Reports suggested that the belgian club were initially asking for around €20m as a total package, though they seem to have upped that amount.

Wissa latest

The future of Yoane Wissa remains in doubt on deadline day, with the Brentford forward having released a statement yesterday calling on Brentford to “keep their word” and let him move to Newcastle.

The Magpies saw their most recent bid of £40m rejected, with the DR Congo international reportedly furious.

With Isak leaving, this is a deal that could get done today though, as Newcastle have always maintained that they want a suitable replacement alongside the arrival of Nick Woltemade.
