The UK government is preparing a new package of sanctions against Russia, Foreign Secretary David Lammy said during a speech in the British Parliament. According to the minister, the announcement of new restrictions is expected in the near future.

During a Q&A with MPs, he was asked whether the sanctions would affect specific individuals responsible for supplying Russian oil. Lammy replied that the government has already done a lot, including lowering the oil price cap, which, in his view, was necessary.

He also noted that London had joined the world’s largest package of sanctions against Putin’s war machine.

I can’t comment on further sanctions, but you will soon see an announcement.
