Caerphilly Council has issued a public notice outlining temporary traffic measures for the Tour of Britain cycle race.

The event is scheduled to take place on September 7.

It will affect towns and villages along the route from Risca to Caerphilly.

The restrictions will be in place between 10.30am and 4pm.

They include a prohibition on waiting and loading on specified stretches of road.

A temporary suspension of one-way traffic will be in effect on Castle Street, Caerphilly, between 1.45pm and 3.15pm.

Speed limits will also be suspended for vehicles associated with the event.

Access to properties will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency services only.

Alternative routes will be available via the B4251, B4256, B4257, 84471, A465, A467, A469, A470, A472, A4046, A4048, and the M4.

– Commercial Street (northeastern side from Brookland Road to No 40/42 Commercial Street, 53m)

– Tredegar Street (northeastern side opposite Nos 3 to boundary of Nos 13 and 15 Tredegar Street, 49m)

Crosskeys:

– Cromwell Road (southern side from Raglan Street to No 4 Cromwell Street, 256m)

– Gladstone Street (northwestern side between the entrance to the car park and No 21, 76m; and between Nos 27 and 50, 87m)

Wattsville:

– Islwyn Road (northern side between Nos 95 and 109, 42m)

Cwmfelinfach:

– Maindee Road (southwestern side between Nos 3 and 10, 46m)

Pontllanfraith:

– Newport Road (western side from a point 300m north of its junction with Gelli Lane to the Star Hand Car Wash, 75m) – Sir Ivors Road (western side between Nos 41 to 61, 56m; between Nos 1 to 15, 42m; eastern side between Nos 6 to 30, 68m)

Holly Bush:

– Newport Road (northwestern side in a southerly direction from No 1 to 20 Llwyn Bach Terrace and No 14 to 1 Newport Road, 212m)

Markham:

– Abernant Road (southern side between Nos 73 and 80, 140m)

– Pantycefn Road (southeastern side between Nos 2 and 8, 80m)

Rhymney:

Pentwyn:

– Glen View Terrace (western side between Nos 1 and 14, 88m; eastern side opposite Nos 2 and 7, 32m)

Deri:

– Bailey Street (western side between Nos 36 and 58, 141m; eastern side between Nos 71 and 92 and un-named house to the south of No 91, and between No 1 and 7 Craig y Felin, 259m)

– New Road (northeastern side between Nos 6 and 16, 96m)

 

Penpedairheol:

– Pengam Road (northern side between Nos 1 and 8 Mount Pleasant, 83m)

Nelson:
