The hit Channel 4 show took to Instagram to announce Taskmastermind, where “alumni go head-to-head in an epic test of Taskmaster knowledge”.

The first edition is between Ed Gamble and Jenny Eclair, with their episode set to drop on YouTube this evening at 7pm.

It comes as the franchise shifts much of its focus to YouTube, with the next season of the show set to premiere on the video platform globally for the first time ever, straight after the Channel 4 broadcast.

The series is due back for its 20th season on 11 September, with Ania Magliano, Phil Ellis, Maisie Adam, Reece Shearsmith and Sanjeev Bhaskar going head-to-head as contestants.

Back in July, Horne teased what fans could expect from the follow-up 21st season, promising an “exotic” guest star.

“There are two things that are new. [Firstly] we’re filming somewhere as well as the house – somewhere that’s pretty mad,” he told Radio Times. “And we have a special guest [in] this [season] from somewhere exotic who you’ll recognise. That’s all I can say.”

Taskmaster will return with season 19 on Thursday, September 11, airing and streaming on Channel 4 and YouTube.
