Counter-terrorism officers have detained four individuals on suspicion of terror-related activities after conducting coordinated raids across England today.

The arrests took place across the UK as part of what authorities described as a pre-planned operation based on intelligence gathering.

Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North East carried out the simultaneous arrests in Leeds, Huddersfield, Derby and West Bromwich.

The suspects, whose ages range from 31 to 49 years old, were all detained under the same provision of anti-terror legislation.

Each man faces identical allegations relating to involvement in planning or preparing terrorist activities.

The four suspects were apprehended at their respective residences this morning.

In Leeds, authorities detained a 33-year-old male, while a younger suspect aged 31 was taken into custody from a property in Huddersfield.

Further south, a 34-year-old individual was arrested at an address in Derby.

The oldest of the group, a 49-year-old man, was detained in West Bromwich.

All four face charges under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000, specifically relating to suspected involvement in the commission, preparation or instigation of terrorist acts.

Following their arrests, the suspects were transported to local police facilities to be questioned.

Authorities emphasised that the arrests were part of a carefully orchestrated intelligence operation, with officials stating there is no current danger to UK residents connected to this inquiry.

Multiple properties linked to the investigation are currently being examined by specialist teams.

Law enforcement sources confirmed the operation had been in planning for some time, based on gathered intelligence rather than any immediate security concern.

The coordinated arrests across four cities demonstrate the extensive reach of the counter-terrorism investigation, though police have moved to reassure communities that today’s actions were preventative in nature.
