After a few generations faltering, Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 7 seems like a smash hit, with a new report revealing that Samsung is already needing to boost production just to keep up with demand.
Ahead of the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s launch, it very much looked like the company’s bet on foldables was coming up short. In fact, Samsung had cut production compared to prior years. But, quickly, it was clear that the Fold 7 was going to do better than expected.
According to The Elec, Samsung is now needing to boost production to meet ongoing demand for Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Specifically, Samsung is planning to produce an additional 60,000 units this month for a total of 260,000. That’s after August production was already much higher than planned. Samsung had only planned to make 170,000 units last month, but ended up producing a whopping 430,000, which followed an even bigger July production of 1.3 million devices.

Meanwhile, production of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE is going down.
As it stands, Samsung is expect to beat the expected 2.4 million production plan, which was already higher than the total shipments of Galaxy Z Fold 6. Last month, Samsung confirmed that Fold 7 was seeing a 50% increase over its predecessor in the United States.
