Castleford Tigers winger Josh Simm has found a new club for 2026, signing with a Super League rival on a two-year deal.
Simm signed with Castleford ahead of the 2024 season having spent a year Down Under with Wynnum-Manly Seagulls in 2023.
He only played seven times in 2024 for the Tigers but scored five tries in that time, whilst his tally of eight in 21 this year in a poor side is also respectable.
Those try-scoring exploits have seen another Super League side come in for him with Catalans Dragons announcing that they have signed Simm on a two-year deal.
Les Dracs have had a trend of signing English wingers and taking them to the next level in past years with Tom Johnstone and Tom Davies both examples of that, and 25-year-old Simm will be hoping he can be the next to take a leap forward in his career.
Super League winger signs for Catalans Dragons
The former St Helens academy product debuted in Super League in the 2019 season but made the switch to Australia after loan spells with Leigh and Hull.
His two-year stint with the Tigers has been his most consistent, particularly this 2025 season, and that’s seen Catalans make a play to sign him.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to play for the Catalans Dragons,” Simm said of his move to Perpignan.
He added: “Once I heard about the interest and received a phone call from Joel Tomkins about his plans for the future I was 100% on board from the word go. It’s a club I’ve always held in high regard and to get the opportunity to represent them really excites me and my family.
“I’m looking forward to getting over to France and putting my best foot forward!”
Joel Tomkins also had his say on Simm, explaining: “Josh joins us with motivation to improve his game and compete for his place in the team. He is at the right age and has the skill set to take his game to the next level with the Dragons.
“His presence in the squad will increase competition for places in the outside backs which will naturally increase the intensity and quality of our training and preparation.”
Despite announcing 13 departures, Catalans have also announced the most new signings with Les Dracs having recruited heavily from overseas to build what looks to be an exciting squad for 2026.
