Jannik Sinner is now just one win away from becoming the first man to successfully defend the US Open title since 2008.
The Italian has enjoyed a dominant campaign at Flushing Meadows so far, dropping just two sets en route to the championship match.
After overcoming Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals, Sinner will come up against Carlos Alcaraz for the 15th time in his career; this time for the US Open championship.
Their upcoming clash marks the third consecutive Grand Slam final where the two have met, following their title bouts at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

For Sinner, it will be the fifth major final in a row that he has appeared in, becoming just the fourth player in the Open Era to do so.
He joins Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in the exclusive list of legends to have completed the feat since 1968.
The world number one has won four of the last five Grand Slam events, and is undefeated at hard court majors since 2023.
He was three match points removed at Roland Garros from potentially closing in on a Calendar Grand Slam, which has not been achieved in men’s tennis since 1969.
Jannik Sinner’s title defence at the 2025 US Open so far
Sinner’s 2025 US Open campaign began in comfortable fashion, with two straight-set victories over Vit Kopriva and former Masters 1000 champion Alexei Popyrin.
In the third round, the 24-year-old was tested by Denis Shapovalov, but came through in four sets before handing a heavy defeat to Alexander Bublik in round four.

Auger-Aliassime gave his all against Sinner in the semifinals, and managed to take a set off him, but ultimately the reigning champion returned to the final.
