Recap by phillip woo
Punted late You’remyeverything came with a withering run from the rear with one wider out to nail favourite Speedy Smartie in the final few metres for a fourth win at his 41st start. Speedy Smartie was knocked off late after claiming the lead 200m out following a wide trip sitting near the speed without cover from gate 10. It’s only a matter of time before he wins for first-season trainer Brett Crawford. Specked late Sonic Boom ran on well to finish a close third after a wide with cover trip settling behind midfield from gate 13. It was his best performance from eight starts over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Oriental Surprise ran on nicely to just miss a placing after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He was able to back up a third at his final start last season following a downgrade. Noble Deluxe gradually faded in the last 100m after dictating the pace from gate four. He should find his mark shortly in this grade.
