DAZN, Noon ET, Tom Welland vs Kevin Herrera. A Top Tier Boxing show from Brentwood, England, headlined by this eight-rounder, but there are some 10-round fights on here, including a couple of Southern Area title fights at 122 and 168.
DAZN, 11:00 pm ET, Anthony Olascuaga vs Juan Carlos Camacho Jr. Olascuaga defends his WBO flyweight title at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas, part of the Canelo-Crawford fight week events. Undercard features prospects like Justin Viloria, Jalil Hackett, and more, and on-paper the matchups look decent, sort of in the old ShoBox style, but that’s always on-paper until you really find out in the ring. Olascuaga has made his name in Japan after going over on short notice and losing to Kenshiro Teraji in 2023, where a game underdog effort earned him return trips and a chance to build his career fast and win a world title. This will be his third title defense and his first fight in the States in three years. Puerto Rico’s Camacho doesn’t have a serious contender’s resume but he’s getting his shot. BLH will have live coverage.
DAZN, Noon ET, Piergiulio Ruhe vs Abeid Zugo. Super welterweight main event from Germany. Looks evenly matched on paper, not big names but could be a decent fight and a solid card.
DAZN, 1:00 pm ET, Jacob Bank vs Tyrone Zeuge. From Denmark. The 24-year-old Bank has home field for this one and is an emerging potential contender at 168, a fringe guy at the moment. Zeuge, 33, has always had some talent but lacks next-level ability and also, it’s always seemed to me, the drive to be more than a domestic or European-level guy. You may remember him from his 2024 loss to Zach Parker or 2018 loss to Rocky Fielding, the fight that won Fielding a secondary WBA paper belt, which prompted Canelo Alvarez’s first flirtation with the super middleweight division. Heavyweight Kem Ljungquist is also in action.
DAZN, 2:00 pm ET, Lewis Crocker vs Paddy Donovan 2. The rematch is here, this time for the vacant IBF welterweight title. It was a cracking atmosphere the first time in Belfast when these two met, a fight that ended in a hugely controversial disqualification call against Donovan, who was winning the fight and deserves the rematch. This one’s taking place outdoors where sound tends to rise and disappear rather than bouncing off an arena ceiling so everyone should be able to hear bells and stuff this time, ought to get a definitive answer in the second go-round. I also like the Caoimhin Agyarko vs Ishmael Davis undercard matchup. BLH will have live coverage.
Netflix, 9:00 pm ET, Canelo Alvarez vs Terence “Bud” Crawford. The big one, with Bud Crawford realistically jumping three, not just two, weight classes to fight Canelo for the undisputed super middleweight championship. Crawford did have one fight at 154 lbs, but that’s his only fight over 147. He’s been a champ at 135, 140, and 147, including undisputed in the latter two divisions, and is aiming for real history if he can win this fight. Many doubt that he can, just on the size difference, and even if Canelo has lost a step he’s still a very good fighter at worst. We’ll obviously have much more on this fight during the week. Christian Mbilli vs Lester Martinez could be a show-stealer at 168 on the undercard, plus Callum Walsh faces Fernando Vargas Jr, and Serhii Bohachuk and Brandon Adams rematch. BLH will have live coverage.
TBA, 4:00 am ET, Naoya Inoue vs Murodjon Akhmadaliev. For the time being, ESPN has fully thrown the towel on their association with boxing, as their Top Rank deal came to an unceremonious end during the summer. That means Inoue fights streaming on ESPN+ is no longer automatic, and at the moment, this fight does not have an official broadcast home for U.S. viewers. That should change in the coming days, and if it doesn’t, it’s a massive shame because this is the best on-paper matchup Inoue’s had in his last four or five fights, and I would simply find it an even more absurd world than I already do if I’m able to watch “Tom Welland vs Kevin Herrera” but not Inoue vs Akhmadaliev. The undercard features Yoshiki Takei defending his bantamweight belt against Christian Medina and returns for prospects Ryusei Matsumoto and Taiga Imanaga. DAZN would be the most obvious and likely landing spot given DAZN basically owns boxing broadcasting for American viewers at this point, but we’ll see. BLH will have live coverage.
