Jack Draper will miss the upcoming Canadian and Cincinnati Opens with an arm injury.
And Draper confirmed on social media that he will be out of action for the next month, before the US Open begins in late August.”After Wimbledon I picked up an injury in my left arm, nothing serious, but I have to make sure it recovers fully for the rest of the season,” he wrote.
“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to compete in Toronto and Cincinnati…. See you in NYC!”
Draper, who dropped from fourth to fifth in the ATP rankings after Wimbledon, could fall further depending on the performance of others in Toronto and Cincinnati.
That is his best performance at a Grand Slam so far, and he is yet to progress beyond the second round at Wimbledon.

“I’ve been really disappointed with the way my game’s been on the grass this year, in all honesty,” Draper said after his loss to Cilic at SW19.
“I really struggled on the grass. I felt great on the hard courts, felt great on the clay.
“I felt there weren’t many holes in my game. As soon as I came on to the grass, I felt a big difference.”
He added: “I think a lot of my success this year with my forehand, when I have more time, it’s a lot easier for me because I can create the speed and the spin that I want, and the effectiveness of that.
“My movement could have been better. There’s many areas of my game which I still really, really need to work on to be the player I want to be.”
Wimbledon winner Jannik Sinner has also pulled out of the Canadian Open, after playing through an elbow injury to beat Carlos Alcaraz in a memorable final on Centre Court.
“Winning that title in Toronto two years ago was the start of a really special moment for me, but after speaking with my team, I have to recover,” Sinner said.
Novak Djokovic will be absent, too, after picking up a groin injury at Wimbledon, where he was beaten in straight sets by Sinner in a one-sided semi-final.
