A Co Donegal driving range owner has taken a swing at American President Donald Trump – by erecting targets of him on his golfing facility.
Well-known local golf enthusiast Con Boyce has run the Target Golf Range at Ballyboe on the outskirts of Letterkenny for almost five years.
Con says his driving range is more for fun than for professionals to brush up on their swing.
But America’s number one citizen might not see the funny side in the businessman’s elaborate efforts which has left him calling the shots.
Con admits that he is not a fan of Trump and admits that his tariffs were the last straw.

“Nope, I’m not a fan. Never have been. His tariffs have the potential to destroy everything and I’m just waiting for him to put a tariff on golfers,” said Con.
So, for a bit of fun and also to take aim at the world’s most powerful man, Con decided to literally take aim at Trump.
“I went out and got a couple of old car bonnets and contacted a sign-maker I know to put pictures of the man himself on them.
“Anybody who hits him on the mouth even gets a prize,” laughed Con.
Con has been playing golf for more than 35 years and is on first name terms with a certain Rory McIlroy and his father Gerry.
Indeed, Con was instrumental in bringing a young Rory to Rosapenna Golf Club when he was still a promising amateur.
Con says the world of golf has exploded even more since Rory won the Masters Tournaments earlier this year.
“Since Rory won the green jacket, golf has got even bigger. We get a lot of young men coming out to the Target Range but they now bring their girlfriends and they have a bit of fun.

“Anybody can give golf a try and I love to offer the odd tip for any young golfer who comes out to the range. It’s a great sport and great to get out and play, especially between workmates,” he said.
And despite not being Trump’s biggest fan, businessman Con said would be more than happy to welcome President Trump to Donegal.
“Why not? If he was over playing in Doonbeg, he could jump in his chopper and pop up to the Target Range and have a few shots at himself.
“Then after a few swings on the range, the Don can say he met the Con,” he laughed.
