ZTE Corp., a global ICT solutions provider, posted revenue of RMB 71.55 billion in the first half of 2025, an increase of 14.5% compared with the same period last year. Net profit attributable to holders of ordinary shares reached RMB 5.06 billion, while profit after extraordinary items was RMB 4.10 billion.

The company reported higher revenue and profit in the second quarter compared with the first quarter. Revenue from computing power and terminal devices nearly doubled year-on-year and accounted for more than 35% of total revenue.

Research and development expenses during the reporting period were RMB 12.66 billion, or about 18% of operating revenue. ZTE said it has filed about 94,000 patent applications globally, with more than 50,000 patents already granted. In artificial intelligence (AI), nearly 5,500 patent applications were filed, while in semiconductors, about 5,700 were filed, with 3,700 granted.

By market, ZTE recorded RMB 50.62 billion in revenue from China and RMB 20.93 billion from international markets, representing 70.7% and 29.3% of total, respectively. Revenue in China grew 17.5% year-on-year, while international revenue increased 7.8%.

By business segment, operator networks contributed RMB 35.06 billion, government and enterprise business RMB 19.25 billion, and consumer business RMB 17.24 billion. Together, the government and enterprise and consumer businesses accounted for more than half of overall revenue.

In the operator networks segment, ZTE said it managed to limit the impact of reduced 5G investment in China. The company gained market share in some products and worked on technologies such as 5G-Advanced and 10-Gigabit access. As a result, the decline in revenue for the segment narrowed compared with the previous year.

The government and enterprise business grew 109.9% year-on-year, driven by demand for intelligent computing. ZTE said this segment has become its main growth area. Domestically, the company benefited from increased computing investments by internet firms and industry players. Internationally, it expanded its presence in data centers, servers, and related infrastructure.

The consumer business reported 7.6% year-on-year revenue growth. ZTE said sales of home terminals, smartphones, cloud PCs, and mobile internet products contributed to this increase. Its smartphone brand nubia and gaming-focused Red Magic brand helped grow international revenue by more than 30%.

On connectivity products, ZTE continued to develop wireless and wired networks. Research firms ranked the company second worldwide in shipments of 5G base stations and 5G core networks.

In computing infrastructure, ZTE rolled out full-stack products, including chips, servers, clusters, and all-in-one machines, supported by software solutions for AI training and applications. The company said its intelligent computing solutions have been used in more than 18 industries, with over 100 deployments.

For terminals, ZTE introduced several AI-enabled devices in the first half, including smartphones, a tablet, and cloud PCs. It also focused on building AI applications for smart homes, covering networks, computing, screens, and home robots.
