Julie Peasgood, known for appearing in Emmerdale, Brookside, Hollyoaks, Years and Years and other notable TV shows, will run a stand at the Antiques & Collectibles Market at the Corn Hall in Cirencester on Friday, September 19.

The intimate market is a favourite of the actress, who has been a fan of it since being introduced to it by Cotswold antiques dealer friend Natasha Kennerly.

“Living in London and with a busy work schedule, I haven’t been able to come to the Corn Hall as often as I would like,” Ms Peasgood said.

“However, I’ve always enjoyed visiting it with Natasha and have bought several lovely pieces there.

“I’m currently in the process of decluttering, so Natasha suggested I take a stall next to hers.

“I’m generally more of a collector than a dealer, but the atmosphere at the Corn Hall is always so friendly.

“I’m looking forward to selling there.”

Ms Peasgood is best known for her parts in British soap operas including Fran Pearson in Brookside from 1991 to 1993, Jo Steadman in Emmerdale in 1997 and Jacqui Hudson in Hollyoaks from 2001 to 2002.

The Antiques & Collectibles Market at the Corn Hall is held every Friday and is a favourite with buyers and antiques dealers alike.

Having run for more than 50 years, the market reportedly constitutes one of the UK’s longest-running antiques fairs.

Finds at the market include a broken blue and white teapot which started its journey at the Corn Hall and ended up selling for thousands at auction.

The teapot was in fact one of the earliest pieces made in America in the 18th century.

Cirencester Markets said the market operates from 9am to 3pm on Fridays, though Ms Kennerly noted it opens at 7am every Friday to the public and dealers alike.

She added that there is no entrance fee.
