Part of the Rising Stars 30 — a list of the UK’s most talented young tech professionals in 2025
Alex got into IT from a very young age, originally wanting to become a teacher as he has always had a passion for helping people.
When this didn’t work out, he embarked on an IT apprenticeship. Now head of technology, he has retained his passion for helping people. As well as helping bring new innovations and efficiency gains within Shine, he spends a lot of time as a volunteer supporting non-profits and helping several charities transition from non-digital organisations to forward-thinking more technological focused ones. This has allowed them to focus on making impact and saved a lot of time for their volunteers and staff.
Alex appreciates “The ability to be able to have the autonomy to bring fresh ideas, not just in tech but across the business.”
