Manchester United have suddenly picked up the pace in the transfer market after securing Bryan Mbeumo, with a ‘superb talent’ next on their shortlist.
Nobody thought Man Utd would be done after agreeing a deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo, and, as expected, attentions have shifted elsewhere.
Precious time was lost on securing Mbeumo, more than a month, but at least the deal was done on favourable terms.
However, that means United have to move quickly now to avoid a scenario where players arrive at Old Trafford and have to get used to the club while playing competitive games.

It was reported earlier that United aim for a striker signing after Mbeumo, but that one is clearly a marquee move that will depend on sales.
In the meantime, United look to have zeroed in on Senne Lammens, the Belgian goalkeeper at Antwerp who shone in 2024/25.
Lammens has made his Man Utd desire clear before, and United were ready to ‘push ahead’ to sign him, especially after Andre Onana’s injury which was better than feared, ruled out Emi Martinez.
Lammens has been described as a ‘superb talent’ previously, and his talismanic displays in goal for Antwerp in 2024/25 have only increased the hype around his potential.
Jorne Spileers is a product of Club Brugge academy – youth system that produced many superb talents in recent years such as Charles De Ketelaere, Cisse Sandra, Ignace Van der Brempt, Lynnt Audoor, Arne Engels, Tibo Persyn, and Senne Lammens.

Belgian outlet HLN now report that United’s interest in Lammens is turning ‘more concrete’, with Antwerp bracing themselves for a bid in the region of £13-17m.
Lammens has been tipped to move for £17m in various reports, so it is unlikely that United start the bidding at that upper echelon of asking price.
Nonetheless, the terms of any potential deal are such that it can happen quickly once the two clubs sit together at the table.
Man Utd’s ideal transfer window taking shape now
What once looked like a trainwreck happening in slow motion has suddenly turned into a precise and single-minded transfer window for Man Utd.
It looks like focusing on Mbeumo was holding up the whole operation at Carrington, and now that he has been secured on favourable terms, United know where they stand with their finances.
The transfer window is taking shape now, with United aiming to add a goalkeeper (Lammens) and striker to the ranks before the end of the window.
Then, depending upon the sales, another central midfielder might arrive, especially in the wake of Amorim’s transfer demand to Ineos.
Four players will definitely come in, including Cunha and Mbeumo, and if United manage to offload every unwanted player, those funds can be redirected towards a fifth.
Not bad for a club that finished 15th in the league last season!
