An elephant visiting a watering hole in Zimbabwe got a rude reception from a honey badger determined to turn away the pachyderm.
Alan Brown was on safari near Sable Valley in Hwange National Park when he captured the “crazy sighting.”
The elephant kicked the honey badger several times and stomped on it, presumably leaving it for dead. But the honey badger recovered, and was relentless in its quest to drive away the elephant.
Finally, the elephant sent the honey badger airborne with a mighty kick. But according to Big Cats Nature Photography, that still didn’t stop the badgering badger.
“Yesterday our guests watched this crazy sighting unfold in front of Sable Valley as this cheeky honey badger just kept going back for more!” Big Cats Nature Photography wrote on its Instagram post.“
“After that nasty blow by the elephant, the badger still continued to terrorize any animal that came down for a drink.
“This sighting left us questioning `who really is king of the jungle?'”
And as one of the witnesses stated, “That was extraordinary.”
