A major Samsung system update has been released to customers, with users being urged to download it immediately to keep their device safe from potential hacks from cyber crooks.
It is crucial that Samsung users head to their settings to accept their latest software upgrade as it fixes over 11 issues that have been discovered in devices. If fans of the Android tech ignore the update, they will be leaving themselves vulnerable to attacks and their phones being overhauled.
To make matters worse, one of the current bugs found by the Korean technology firm has been given a ‘critical’ rating. This is due to crooks having already discovered the flaw in the system and currently using it to attack unsuspecting victims, reports the Express.
Samsung users across the globe are now vulnerable to hackers infiltrating their devices. In order to block any further damage, the tech giant is urging its customers to quickly update their devices.

Samsung warned: “Severity: Critical. Out-of-bounds Write in libimagecodec.quram.so prior to SMR Sep-2025 Release 1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code.
“Samsung was notified that an exploit for this issue has existed in the wild.”
For those unaware, executing an arbitrary code means cybers crooks will be able to install dangerous malware onto devices and gain privileges. From there, they will be able to spy on their victim and steal their personal data.
Due to the severity of this flaw, Samsung has rushed to release their latest monthly update in an attempt to minimise any damage hackers may cause.
It is important that every Samsung user takes the time to update their device, even if it is a newer model in the range. The quicker users increase the security on their device, the less at risk they will be.
Additionally, for those heading to their settings to update their smartphone, it is important to make sure your device is first adequately charged before starting the process.

Having sufficient battery means that your device is less likely to die during the process, which could render your phone useless as the new data becomes corrupted.
Samsung added: “At Samsung, we take security and privacy issues very seriously and we are doing our best to respond as quickly as possible.
“Securing your device and maintaining the trust you place in us is our top priority.”
For those with an older Samsung model who are unsure if they still receive the latest updates, Samsung has detailed a list of the all of devices that currently get monthly updates:
