It comes as the hospital was shortlisted out of more than 400 entries across all categories, which hospital director, Karen Planetrose, says reflects the dedication of KIMS hospital’s consultants and staff.

She said: “To be named a finalist for Hospital of the Year is a real honour for us.

“It reflects the passion and professionalism of every single person who works at KIMS hospital. We are all committed to giving patients the very best care, and this recognition shows that dedication really does make a difference.”

In addition, the specialist healthcare provider has been recognised by the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) – as the top cardiac centre outside of London.

The PHIN is the independent, government-mandated organisation responsible for collecting and publishing data on private healthcare activity and quality in the UK.

PHIN data found that as well as ranking as the number one private interventional cardiology centre outside of the capital, it also ranks third in the UK for intervention cases – including angiography and angioplasty, essential for diagnosing and treating coronary artery disease.

KIMS hospital, which is found next to Newnham Court retail park, also ranked joint second in the UK for pacing – highlighting its expertise in implanting pacemakers to regulate heart rhythms.

Dr Naveen Mudalagiri, clinical lead, consultant cardiologist and interventional cardiologist at KIMS Hospital, said: “These rankings reflect the dedication and expertise of our entire team.

“Our focus remains on delivering safe, effective, and personalised care to every patient, whether through interventions, pacing, or other cardiac procedures.”

KIMS Hospital opened in 2014 and performed 240 procedures in the first year but now has the capacity to treat around 2,400 patients every year.
