The Lavender Park Golf Centre, located directly opposite Lapland UK, features a nine-hole course, a driving range,  a sports bar and an on-site golf shop.

The club has recently submitted a plan to create an American gold rush themed adventure course on a sliver of land at the centre of the site.

A proposed site plan shows the adventure course being created between the competition course and the 24-bay driving range.

Plans show the adventure course will feature rocks to emulate Monument Valley, a steam train, a stagecoach, a settler’s wagon and a mine, hearkening to the gold rush era of the 1800s.

The Lavender Park website states: “Designed to be fun, family-friendly, and environmentally sensitive, it will offer a great new attraction for the local community.”

Justifying the project, a planning agent from Saturn Rock explained: “The proposed introduction of an adventure golf course is intended to stabilise and enhance the long-term economic viability of the business.

“Traditional golf courses have seen declining participation rates, particularly among younger demographics, due to the associated costs and time commitments.

“By diversifying the range of offerings to include an adventure golf facility, the business aims to attract a broader audience, including families and children who may not typically engage with a conventional golfing environment.

“This diversification is expected to increase visitor numbers and generate additional revenue streams.”

The course will operate from 9am to 9pm in the summer months, with reduced hours during winter.

The Lavender Park club would expand the existing car park to provide 40 regular spaces and an accessible parking space.

Additionally, 20 cycle spaces will be provided.

The extension of the car park will require two Cypress trees and a Scots Pine to be chopped down. An arboricultural report states the Scots Pine will be replanted elsewhere on the site.

The plans have been submitted to Bracknell Forest Council, as the golf club falls within its jurisdiction.

Winkfield Parish Council has stated that the three trees that will be removed should be replaced, asked The Lavender Park club to devise a light pollution mitigation strategy and consider the impact increased activity could have on highways.

The golf centre is located off the B3107 Swinley Road, which also serves as the access for Lapland and the Englemere Pond.

The long road connects with the A322 King’s Ride and the A329 London Road.

Other themed courses in the area include Bear Mountain Adventure Golf, GolfPlex and Wokingham Family Golf Course.
