Peter Kay has issued a warning to fans attending his Manchester show on Friday as planned industrial action threatens to disrupt two-thirds of the city’s bus services.
The 52-year-old comedian, who is still touring with his Better Late Than Never Again tour that began in December 2022, shared guidance on social media, posting: “Important travel info for those attending Peter Kay’s show in Manchester on Friday.”
Fans were advised to allow extra travel time and check their bus routes before leaving for the AO Arena, where doors open at 6:30pm and Kay is expected on stage at 8pm.
Tickets for the Manchester show, which has a 23,000-seat capacity, remain on sale starting at £99.25. Kay is scheduled to perform in Liverpool on Saturday before taking several weeks off from touring. The tour will then resume in Nottingham on October 5 and 6, followed by a Glasgow show on October 22.

The comedian has faced criticism from fans over copyright enforcement on social media. Audience members have reported that clips from his shows have been removed, prompting huge backlash.
One Newcastle attendee posted on TikTok: “Honest opinion, £150 for two tickets wasn’t worth it. You know what, he’s been better guys. Tonight I didn’t laugh, I laughed about twice in the second half. Sorry Peter if your [sic] watching this mate, it’s not for you no more. That’s my honest opinion.”
The same fan later revealed: “My video slating Peter Kay in Newcastle has been removed for copyright reasons here is a screen shot of the absolute waste of £150.”
Other attendees have reported similar removals. One fan who attended a Manchester show last year wrote: “I saw him in Manchester last year and posted a similar pic on IG. Six months later they removed it for copyright purposes. Massive PK fan but this tour just did not land at all. Very disappointed.”
Peter also faced even more criticism from fans who have accused the comic of putting on a below-par performance for his Better Late Than Never tour.

The Bolton-born star, who has been heckled during the sold-out tour, which first began in December 2022, has been slammed by some ticketholders, who say they’ve waited 12 years to see Peter live in action again, only to be presented with ‘recycled’ jokes.
One person compared the show to an evening at holiday park, Pontins, while suggested the show’s humour was becoming ‘outdated’ and ‘stale.
Referring to the part of Peter’s performance where he sings advert jingles for confectionary such as ‘a Mars a day helps you work, rest and play’ accompanied by ‘a finger of Fudge is just enough’, one particular punter on TikTok appeared shared their disdain.
Meanwhile, others complained: “When I went to see him, he didn’t stop talking about his dead nana. Been a huge Peter Kay fan since he came on the scene, but I have to agree. We saw this show in Glasgow a couple of years back and it was awful.”
However, others love the show and have praised Peter for his acerbic wit and brilliant take on everyday life, which has made him into one of the country’s most successful comedians.
