Bond Thoroughbred Limited, who made quite a splash this summer with the private acquisition of leading French three-year-old Maranoa Charlie, have bought Saturday’s impressive Park Stakes winner Marvelman with plans afoot to supplement him for British Champions Day next month.

The Andrew Balding-trained three-year-old will now carry the black and yellow silks made famous by the late Reg Bond through sprinters Captain Gerrard, Monsieur Bond and Ladies Are Forever. 

Marvelman had been keeping good company before Saturday’s success, chasing home Cosmic Year in the King Charles II Stakes at Newmarket and finishing third behind More Thunder in the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury last month.
