Natalie Cassidy, who played Sonia Fowler for decades in EastEnders, will bring her book tour to the town.
She will be in Old Town at Bert’s Books next month to talk about her memoir, Happy Days, which shares anecdotes, advice and recipes along with giving an insight into her life.
Cassidy left the show after 32 years in 2025.
Her final scenes saw her character play the trumpet her younger self was known for as she left.
When she announced her departure in January, the 42-year-old actress and presenter said she was “extremely sad” but “very excited”.
Cassidy made her first appearance in the soap in 1993, leaving in 2007, before returning briefly between 2010 and 2011, and later coming back to Walford in 2014.
Speaking about her exit, she said: “It felt very final but also very good. It’s a nice place to leave Sonia after so much has happened to her.
“Sonia feels like she’s never going to live down what happened with Reiss, so the only thing to do is leave the Square.
“I’m never going to say goodbye to her because, after 32 years, Sonia is ingrained in me. So, while I’m saying goodbye on screen, for now, Sonia is always there, knocking about.”
Cassidy will be at Bert’s Books from 12pm to 1pm on October 7.
