Some new Avengers: Secret Wars rumors should excite fans who are anxiously waiting for the MCU movie.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently in production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the Marvel Studios movie is expected to arrive in December 2026. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in 2027. That movie is also being directed by the Russo Brothers.
What are the latest Avengers: Secret Wars rumors?
Scooper Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus was recently asked if Avengers: Secret Wars will explore the lore behind the two types of Builders. In Marvel Comics, the Builders are an ancient race, divided into the Creators and the Engineers, who are responsible for controlling the structure of space and time.
According to Perez, however, Marvel fans probably shouldn’t be expecting them to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars. “I don’t think they’ll do that,” he wrote.
While it’s been confirmed that a number of X-Men characters will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, the cast for Avengers: Secret Wars remains a mystery at this time. When asked if the Fox X-Men will also be part of Avengers: Secret Wars, Perez said, “Some will return for Avengers: Secret Wars.”
Perez also said that the Illuminati from Earth-838, which was seen in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, will be revisited at some point, though whether that happens in Avengers: Secret Wars remains to be seen. The Illuminati featured in the Doctor Strange movie includes Mordo, Peggy Carter, Black Bolt, Maria Rambeau, Reed Richards, and Charles Xavier.
Lastly, Perez indicated that Marvel’s Multiverse arc “in general” will be concluding following the events of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Official plot details for both Doomsday and Secret Wars remain under wraps at this time, meaning this is only a rumor and should be treated as such. Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2027, while Secret Wars has a December 17, 2027, release date.
