Coronation Street‘s Evelyn Plummer is set to make a big announcement following her grandson Tyrone Dobbs’ accident.
Earlier this month, Tyrone was involved in a tragic car accident, which left him in hospital, after Dylan Wilson and Brody Michaelis stole a car and drove it recklessly around Weatherfield.
Waking up in hospital, Tyrone was told he had a long road to recovery after a spinal injury and losing all feeling in his legs.

As she visits her grandson in hospital, Tyrone confides in Evelyn that he could be laid up for months following his accident and he’s worried about the strain on his wife Fiz.
The following week, Evelyn makes a big announcement – she’s dropping out of university.
Masking her disappointment, she tells Fiz that she’s decided to give up university as it’s expensive and a young person’s game.
“Evelyn’s announcement comes completely out of the blue,” our Corrie source explains. “As far as everyone was aware, she was loving her time in university studying law.

“Evelyn isn’t the type of person to suddenly give up like this – she fought hard for her place in university and silenced any doubters who reckoned she was too old.
“So, is she merely covering her true feelings because of the situation at home? And if so, will anyone be able to talk her round?”
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Carl Webster was hiding his guilt as the police continued to investigate the hit-and-run that injured Tyrone.
A flashback revealed that Carl has been keeping secrets about what happened on the day Dylan and Brody stole the car for him.
Will he confess, or will Tyrone remain in the dark about what really happened?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
