Plans have been submitted for a new medical centre in Enderby to meet the needs of the growing population in the area.
Developer One Medical Property has lodged plans with Blaby District Council to build a medical centre and pharmacy on land in George Street, less than 100 metres from the existing centre in Shortridge Lane.
According to the plans, the proposed centre would be built by the developer, which would then lease the site to Enderby Medical Centre.
Documents submitted to the council state the current building, while “cherished” by the community, had reached its capacity.
