“Is there something wrong with my mom?” “Your mom’s pretending to be someone else…” “Who is she?” 😱 Only one way to find out! Hulu has revealed the main official trailer for a horror remake called The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, based on the original 1992 movie of the same name directed by Curtis Hanson. That 90s film starred Annabella Sciorra & Rebecca De Mornay and is more of a vicious vengeance tale than horror story. This new take on The Hand That Rocks the Cradle is from Mexican horror filmmaker Michelle Garza Cervera. Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Caitlin Morales, an upscale suburban mom who brings a new nanny, Polly Murphy, into her home, only to discover she is not the person she claims to be. Garza explains: “We build a whole different kind of thriller,” hinting that it’s not so much a remake but something new. The film also stars Maika Monroe as Polly Murphy, Raúl Castillo, Martin Starr, Mileiah Vega, Riki Lindhome, and Shannon Cochran. This definitely looks very sneaky & twisted, Polly is certainly up to something with this family. Even though it’s skipping theaters, this seems like it might be worth a watch.
